We have distinct memories of arriving on Fiji’s coral coast with our little ones in tow and watching these beautiful local women weaving baskets on the beach. Their broad smiles beckoned the children to watch and even participate in this cultural and ancient craftsmanship. Sanasana is the very region where we find ourselves going back to over and over again, aware of how lucky we are to have met some of the wonderful people who grew up, work and live on this part of the island. Villages are interspersed amongst luxurious resorts, the colour of the water matches the jewels in the gift shop, and the friendly banter and compassionate care from Fijians is what creates a loyalty amongst frequent travellers.
